Who I am
electra.ink is the author website of Electra, published by Amber Ink. Amber Ink is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything about your data, email hello@electra.ink. I read every message and reply within 30 days.
What I collect and why
Newsletter and ARC team sign-ups. If you join, I get your email address and, if you give it, your first name. I use them only to send you the emails you signed up for: new releases, bonus scenes, advance copies. The legal basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and I keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them.
Visit statistics, only if you accept cookies. If you click Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics records which pages you visit, roughly where you are (country or city), your device and browser, and how you arrived. It does not tell me who you are. I use it to see which books and pages readers are interested in. The legal basis is your consent. If you decline, Google Analytics doesn't load at all.
Game progress. The interactive games remember which endings you've found. That is stored only in your own browser and never sent to me.
Emails you send me. If you write to me, I keep the conversation so I can reply.
I don't sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to make automated decisions about you.
Who else handles it
A few services do the technical work for me:
- Kit (ConvertKit LLC, USA) stores the mailing list and sends the newsletter.
- Google (Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC) runs Google Analytics, only if you accept cookies.
- Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA) hosts the website. Like any web host, its servers briefly log technical details such as your IP address to keep the site running and secure.
Some of these companies are in the United States. Transfers there are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Links to Amazon, Ream, Goodreads and social networks take you to those sites, and their own privacy policies apply there.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*), and only after you click Accept. They last up to two years. The newsletter forms are provided by Kit, which may set its own cookies when you use them. Your cookie choice is remembered in your browser so the banner doesn't keep asking.
You can change your mind at any time: .
Your rights
You can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to or limit how I use it. You can withdraw consent at any time, which doesn't affect anything done before. Email hello@electra.inkand I'll deal with it. If you're unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
Children
This site and these books are for adults. Please don't sign up if you're under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top.
